The new primary school at Lufton, which was due to open in September next year, is being held up because Persimmon won’t build the new main road which runs through the site. The issue seems to be that they want to wriggle out of the legal agreements including paying towards the Western Corridor road schemes. I have asked our new MP to intervene, since he stood on an infrastructure and school places ticket at the election.
Another issue, which only affects the Yarlington homes, is that theirbuilder has gone into receivership. I have spoken to Darrell at Yarlington, and he’s confident that a rescue plan can be put together.
